Our Spring Step Tights are designed to support individuals living with multiple sclerosis, stroke, and other neurological or musculoskeletal conditions that affect gait and mobility. By assisting those experiencing one-sided or two-sided weakness, Spring Step helps promote a smoother, more natural walking pattern, empowering users to move with greater confidence and independence.

For individuals living with multiple sclerosis, stroke, and other neurological conditions that affect gait, Spring Step is designed to provide targeted assistance during critical phases of walking. The system supports movements such as dorsiflexion, knee flexion, and hip flexion to encourage a smoother, more efficient gait pattern while helping users overcome common mobility challenges associated with lower-extremity weakness. At the same time, the wearable continues to engage the surrounding musculature—including major muscle groups responsible for stability and propulsion—to promote active movement rather than passive support.

Performance and Training

For healthy individuals, Spring Step provides gentle resistance throughout the gait cycle, encouraging activation of the postural and lower-extremity muscles that contribute to balance, stability, and efficient movement. Rather than restricting motion, the wearable is designed to challenge the body during everyday movement, making it a valuable tool for training, rehabilitation, and performance.

Microgravity Applications

In microgravity environments, astronauts experience significant muscle atrophy due to the absence of Earth's gravitational load. Spring Step has the potential to provide external resistance during movement, helping keep key muscle groups engaged while walking or exercising. By recreating some of the mechanical demands normally provided by gravity, the technology could support muscle maintenance during extended spaceflight.
